About this Author
My name is Nicki Krys. Nice to meet you! (Well, figuratively anyway)
I’ve studied history since I was a little girl and fell in love with it head over heels. It is my greatest passion in life, and soon to be a career in the near future, as an historical writer. I’m hoping my first published novel will be completed by late 2017.
A little about me: Books and reading were my first love. I always enjoyed being read classics as a child – Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle, Homer, to name a few – and soon came to adore the works of Anne Rice, Oscar Wilde, Jean Plaidy, and so many others. And it was through these that I discovered my own talent as a writer. It became a way of life and soon I was offered a spot in the Write Out Loud! Literary Program at Monmouth University, where my poetic works were featured back in the summer of 2009, when I was just a sophomore in high school.
Then I realized I was falling for something even harder.
SHOWTIME was in the process of completing a series called The Tudors, which focused on the life of King Henry VIII of England. I watched one episode of the 38 episodes and it sparked something inside of me. I had to learn more. Ever since then, I have been an avid reader of novels, history blogs, National Geographic magazines, and everything that I can lay my hands on on subjects like the Wars of the Roses, the Borgia family, the American Revolution, ancient Egypt, and the Titanic disaster to name a few. I find it fun to try and separate fact from fiction and finding out the true stories behind the legends that most people know.
As I got older and my high school years came to a close, I decided, why not try mixing my two passions together? It has been a wonderful decision. Thus, here I sit, making this blog, drinking coffee, and talking..er…typing, to all of you.
Anyway, enough about me. I hope you enjoy your stay here and hopefully learn and take away something with you when you leave. If you want, you can even see some of my original work here. Good day!
